Algarve Property sales reviews 2017 - by Yellow Homes

Helen Mamerow 08/03/2018 16:57:32

The last few weeks we have seen some rather unfortunate news hitting the headlines. The collapse of Monarch, an ever present airline at Faro airport for many years, will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the Algarve. Hopefully the routes lost by the companies collapse will be replaced quickly and efficiently causing minimal disruption to air passengers using the airport. Indeed as this article goes to press it is being reported that Faro airport welcomed 3.5 million passengers this summer up 14.1% on summer 2016. In addition to travel problems and as reported in the financial press, part of Vilamoura has been put up for sale by the American fund Lone Star. If true this will come as a major disappointment to those promised the massive...

Advice from the property professionals at Yellow Homes...

Stefan Humpenoeder 14/11/2017 15:32:53

Selling real estate in an area as popular as the Algarve during the summer period can be a little tricky. Normally between mid-June and mid-September most properties are occupied and viewings can be difficult to arrange. However, the end of summer signals the start of the autumn selling period and, as most agents will testify, a return to more tolerable working temperatures. Historically it is also the time of year when more home owners decide now is the time to sell. With the recent weakening of the pound many British second-home owners can afford to sell properties at a much lower Euro rate and still come out on top. With euro to sterling currently at around €1.12, it is a good time for British homeowners who are looking to sell. Fortunately...

Viva Portugal - An update from the Algarve property...

Helen Mamerow 19/07/2017 16:22:23

Having been crowned the champions of Europe in the 2016 UEFA European Championship and now having just won the Eurovision Song Contest in front of a television audience of over 200 million people from around the world, there is a feeling of pride in Portugal. This small, unassuming southern European country is going through a period of making rather a lot of noise on the world stage, something that can only be good for the country many of us are lucky enough to call home.

In addition to sporting and singing dominance, the Global Peace Index 2017 recently stated that Portugal was now the third most peaceful country in the world and possible one of the reasons why we are attracting tourists that had...

A guide on finding the right estate agent for you from property expert Paul Greenhalgh @ Yellow Homes

Whether it is to upgrade, downsize or sell up and leave the Algarve, taking the decision to sell your property can be a difficult one. Acquiring the services of a long established and vastly experienced local real estate agent is vital. Good agencies are very pro-active in trying to sell your property and it takes a lot more than just uploading it onto one of the many property portals and sitting and waiting for an email enquiry to arrive.

 Property Information

The first step is to meet with the real estate agent at your property taking time to show them round and explaining all the...

Algarve property market regains its buoyancy in 2017

Helen Mamerow 10/03/2017 14:58:16

As we predicted the beginning of 2017 has clearly demonstrated that the desire to invest in property in the Algarve continues to go from strength to strength. So far this year we have already brokered several property sales between a real varied mix of nationalities looking to invest in various property types. Predominantly but not exclusively, these buyers are coming from Central and Northern Europe – including from Sweden, Holland, Germany, Belgium, France, the UK and Switzerland. Combine these sales with the potential property purchasers that have already pre-booked property visits with us in the coming months and our optimism for yet another successful year appears well founded. Although difficult to see if you are not directly...

Why buying a property in the Algarve Portugal - Article...

Stefan Humpenoeder 17/01/2017 09:07:54

Only being able to find a few spare hours in the evening to write this report is testament to the fact that the Algarve Autumn property rush is most definitely in full swing. With property listings to take on, potential buyers from all over Europe to tour and the excitement that comes with having numerous agreed deals to complete, it is a particularly busy time of year. As we approach the end of the year, it is around about November time that most long established Algarve based real estate agents can start to get a clearer picture and give an accurate assessment of just how successful the year has been with regard to property sales.

As has always been the case when purchasing Algarvian property, our foreign investors tend to make...
